Fiber Designs
The following images are how I got started. The first is a simple one in an outline stitch that my mother did as a young girl. The second should be a cup towel that I did as a child, but I have to find it...next is a project I did as a Girl Scout. Following that is a "stitchery" as it was called in my art class, Then I started a cross stitch table cloth with coco colored floss and trimmed in crocheted lace. As time progressed I did several other "fiber designs" in college and did more as time went on. I plan to post from the "beginning" to present day. Blogging is new to me and I am learning as I go.

As you might imagine, learning how to do anything with a needle is a challenge to a beginner, especially a child. However, having seen exceptional needlework all my life, I really was interested in specialized techniques. I had exemplary mentors, my mother, grandmother and a high school art teacher in Houston, Texas, Lourena Cook. Prior to this high school crafts class I had only done cross stitch and outline.
